Ceremony at The Savoy? Don’t mind if I do!
It’s not every day a project you’ve worked on gets nominated for two awards (and especially not ones getting dished out at a ceremony at The Savoy).

So it was extra lovely to rock up to see if Marriott Bonvoy’s partnership with That Christmas on Netflix would win either the Best Partnership Marketing or the HMA Creative Excellence award at The 30th Hotel Marketing Awards with HOSPA.
We didn’t win either award (which would’ve been nice, obviously). But getting shortlisted in really competitive categories was certainly something. And we all got to celebrate together at The Savoy, which was pretty cracking in itself.

Check us out! You’ve got the Marriott International senior marketing mind behind the project, Amber Lawson, Marketing Manager Abegail L. and Executive Pastry Chef Biju Joshwa from Sheraton Grand London Park Lane (the hosts of that incredible partnership-themed afternoon tea), Patrick Flynn from creative studio Fearless Union and me, the copywriter on the project.
I didn’t get to fulfill my lifelong dream of accepting an award and getting to thank Richard Curtis for it (he wrote the film, That Christmas). But there’s still time. For now, I’ll take this shortlisting kudos (and the free bubbles and canapes at The Savoy).

Oh, and the best bit? Being invited along. In Amber’s words, this was a “collaborative effort”, and I’m super lucky to have a client who’s not only really supportive but wants you to be there alongside them to toast a job done well.
Thanks, all, for a fab project and super-swanky evening out.
